Book Reviews
If you are a book nerd like myself or want to get into reading, you'll appreciate my monthly book reviews on some I genuinely enjoy and learn from.
An excellent book if you are looking to discover your calling. This book has the right tactics on finding your purpose and being able to tell what your real-life path should be vs. what may be expected of you from family, society, etc.
Spirituality explained logically. It shows you a path to inner peace and freedom by breaking down the concept of self and how elusive it is. The book starts by asking the question “who am I?” and how to answer it. Talks about the voice inside your head, the negative self-talk, and how to control it.
BRAIN SNACKS
Speak Your Brain is a space that promotes self-improvement, looking to create a community working on the same path of evolving into a better version of themselves every day.
It’s frustrating dealing with rude people or a boyfriend that doesn’t seem to understand you want his fries, or whatever reason that’s frustrating you, use these methods to keep calm and keep things from escalating.
Do you ever wonder about who you are and what your purpose on this big spinning blue is? Well, I’ve been thinking about it, and here’s what I believe being yourself means.
There are six types of toxic people. It’s important to realize we all resort to these toxic behaviors at times when we feel afraid or insecure. The point of this is not to point fingers and judge but to identify these behaviors, so we can start working on limiting them.
Write some of your emotions, some of your concerns, some of your goals: short term plans, and long term plans. Maybe a quote you read somewhere that stuck with you. Perhaps a thought or a business idea or something you thought of when you had a moment of clarity.
The importance of how you start your day is impeccable(thought I’d kickstart this with a big word). A healthy morning routine sets you up for a productive day, to say the least, in case the rest of your day goes South. Here I’ll be providing a routine that works great for myself, and I’m sure it will get you feeling strong early in the day as well.
These “tricks” stop us from seeing situations with a clear mind. For example, anxiety might cause you to project your insecurities onto others, OR you might be drowning in self-doubt, which is holding you back in so many ways.
An excellent book if you are trying to learn how to deal with the outside world and people—creatures of emotion and prejudice. People are motivated by pride, ego, and vanity. Everyone you meet thinks of themselves superior to you in some way, and this book teaches you that the socially intelligent thing to do would be to let them realize you recognize their importance.
